Len Umina Today

This website is about Leonard J. Umina (Len) and the people who came to support him in the Gubernatorial Election of 1990 in Massachusetts.

Almost all of this information is from boxes of archives I have stored since the 1980's.  It begins with my quest to convince the Republican Party that the idea of a 'Common Sense Computerization' network would eliminate corruption in state government.    Michael Dukakis was governor then, and there were a number of scandals.  Unfortunatly, while the Republicans at the time did listen, especially at the local level, others had no use for the kind of reform and technology I was suggesting.  I ultimately left the Republican Party to form the Independent High Tech Party, which became the Independent Voters Party after we got enough votes in that election to start our own political party.
